Nominations for awards that recognise initiatives in safety and well-being, innovation and transformation in the South Australian mining industry are open until 30 September.

The 2022 Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining are an opportunity to celebrate organisations, individuals and initiatives that contribute to the development and furthering of the renewable energy, petroleum, mining and technology sectors in South Australia.

The Premier will present awards across five categories including Safety and Well-being, sponsored by SafeWork SA, at a dinner and ceremony on 8 December.

Other categories to be recognised include Community, Environment, Innovation and Transformation, Young Achiever (under 30) and this year for the first time a new category - Young Indigenous Achiever (under 30).

The Department for Energy and Mining and its partners SafeWork SA, Environment Protection Authority and the Department for Environment and Water continue to deliver this important awards program, now in its 11th year.

Nominations are now open for individuals, companies and organisations operating in the:

  • Energy sector (generation, transmission, distribution, retail, energy products and services)
  • Resources sector (exploration, mining, petroleum, quarrying)
  • Engineering, Technology and Services sector.

Green energy, resources and technology solutions are key areas of growth for South Australia and the Premier’s Awards for Energy and Mining are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the best of the best.

The keys to our future green energy security lie in growing the energy and resource sectors in South Australia through innovation, collaboration, and global leadership, which is why the government has committed to a $593 million Hydrogen Jobs Plan.

The awards demonstrate South Australia’s leadership in all areas from corporate social responsibility to innovation, and delivery, all with significant impact on the community and lives of all South Australians.
