SafeWork SA inspectors undertake a range of activities to ensure workplace health and safety. Inspectors provide a balanced range of services from information, assistance and advisory services through to compliance and enforcement activities.
Compliance and enforcement activities may lead to prosecutions being filed in the South Australian Employment Tribunal and the Magistrates Court.
A prosecution may be commenced by SafeWork SA on its own initiative, or following consideration of a request to prosecute from a person as provided for by Section 231(1) of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA).
