South Australians are being asked to share their experiences of being or working with Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) to help shape a new HSR strategy for the state.

The SafeWork SA Engagement Survey only takes five to 10 minutes to complete and will assist SafeWork SA, Employer and Employee Organisations to gain an understanding of how best to support HSRs.

A HSR is elected by workers and their role is to represent those workers on health and safety related matters through ongoing consultation and cooperation between the workers and the employer.

The survey is open until 31 October 2023.

SafeWork SA Executive Director Glenn Farrell said HSRs play an integral role in improving the safety of Australian workplaces.

‘I am committed to building on the important role HSRs have at a workplace and to ensure they are supported to fulfill their function effectively to improve the health and safety for all,’ he said.

‘Your contribution towards shaping South Australia’s HSR strategy through this short survey is greatly appreciated.’
